Smoking can cause lung cancer but can also protect the gum in your mouth. To be correct, it can help preserve it. Salting, pickling and smoking are ways to preserve food. If you smoke for years and quit suddenly, your gum condition will begin deteriorating much faster. Why aren't the healthy effects of smoking also advertised so that people can trade risks? Do you know of any other positive health effects from smoke?
