"Blackberry Denied"

Mister President, how are we going to break it to the people? I mean it's going to do one hell of a thing to your image. You can't buy this malarkey. Imagine commercials exploiting this in foreign countries showing their leaders calling you from their flashy red Blackberries. Silvio's with the Ferrari logo on it and Sarkozy's with the Carla-Bruni-singing ringtone. The Kim Jong ills, the Chavezes and Ahmadinejads having theirs designed to look like a missile. Damn it, Mister President. I've been warning for years that we're still riddled with traitors. With your permission I'd like to call the boys in CONCOM :P

Shorter Pregnancy

If men can be pregnant wouldn't it be great if scientists also worked on making pregnancy last fewer than the average of 9 months? The benefits to society would be huge! :)

Passenger-phone interactive screens for subway ads

Japan is the country of long train commutes. I commute 2 hours every day to my work. The trains have print ads hanging on the walls and TV screens above the sliding doors that display animated ads. I watch them all the time when I'm not sitting down. I thought it would be interesting to make them interactive with passenger phones. Allow phones within a certain radius to be used as remote controls to send instructions to the TV screen.

The commercial could ask questions relevant to the product advertised and then collect and display the answers given by the passengers who will press buttons on their phones or send text messages. It can turn into a fun game. For people on long commutes it can add some excitement to the train ride.

my friend has an old worn out wallet and twice coins fell all over the place. he doesn't want to buy a new one so i thought to cover the wall of the coin pocket with thin magnet. then i think why not cover all wallets with thin magnet inside to avoid coins drop out the wallet.

How I saved my card but lost my finger!

The card looks exactly the same but uses fingerprint id technology anywhere on its surface. Once you hold it with your thumb it gets activated for no more than 1 minute which is enough time to be inserted in the ATM machine or be swiped. You still have to enter the pin but even if you enter it correctly the card can't be used if the fingerprint didn't match. Unintended consequences? Hmmm, let me think. Your card's safer but not your finger. Thieves inspired by Tarantino and desperate for your money might cut it and that bloody sucks :D

baskets with scanners

a way to save time is to put scanners on supermarket baskets to show customers the total cost of all items in it. this way customers would know if they are about to overspend and when ready they just pay at the cashier or swipe their credit card on the side of the scanner for faster payment.

T-shirt discount advertising

Businesses could advertise by giving t-shirt freebies to customers with their company logo and slogan on them. If customers wear it when they shop they get a 5% discount. This will encourage them to wear it and advertise the discount and the business to other people as well.

condom company job qualifications

do you think being sexually active and using condoms is a fair expectation for condom companies to have about employees working in their marketing and customer service departments? it be interesting to see what kind of background checks these companies do on potential hires in order to get to that kind of info. it's not something you can ask directly, is it? maybe it's my immaturity level but I find it amusing thinking about the question 'what skills will you bring to the job' in a condom company interview. how do you answer it?

Japan and shoe-care

During my time in Japan I learned to take extra good care of my shoes and always carried a small shoe-polish with me. Why? Notice how the Japanese don't shake hands but bow when they greet each other. That means they always look straight into each other's shoes. If you ever go to Japan to work that's a good little tip to know!
