Most people know by now that new regulations are that you can't carry any liquid over 100ml with you in the plane. Yet some still don't know and many who do know also forget, carry it with them all the way to security check and then are told they have to leave it behind. Since the passenger already checked in their luggage that nice wine gift stays back with customs and most of the time it's never reclaimed. That's because it's not easy to do. How about the item that's left over is immediately tagged and the passenger is given a track number to trace their item online and order it to be shipped at special discount rates given by the airline company the customer flew with.

This is a good idea to keep customers happy don't you think?

Make local supermarket and grocery stores sales data available online so that local food managers can access them for a fee. By studying the data on grocery sales from all supermarkets and stores in the area food managers will get a pretty good idea of people's preferences. For example, if your local food deli or restaurant sells pasta you can find out from sales data which types of spaghetti sauce people in your area buy the most. Not all ghosts are scary and there some can be pet-ghosts and play with the kids. Set your own credit card spending limits

The banks set the maximum amount of credit you can have but it be nice if they also gave their customers the option to set their own daily weekly or monthly spending limits. It can be offered as an extra service in the customer's online banking account. This way people can have more control over their spending.

Wikipedia. Famous People's Facebook!

They're all in there. Every time I do a google search of a famous person the first result I get is their Wikipedia page. It has a bio, a photo and links to more info about them on the web. It's a detailed social network profile. It occurred to me that Wikipedia is the best social network platform for famous people. Their life's work is already included. What's missing is an 'Add me as a Friend' button and regular updates of their activities. An online encyclopedia with a social network capability for famous people, a hybrid Wikibook, would be cool to have on the web!

Brutal Honesty Service

Don't you think it's a fact of life that most people don't care or are too afraid to give their honest opinion on how others really look like? I often see it, for instance, in couples who go shopping for new clothes. When she'll ask him if her bum looks big, the boyfriend won't own up to that fact if he wants to keep his balls intact. Brutal honesty is a rare service many people would appreciate. I thought of creating an online service to deliver brutal honesty on any issue that deals with looks and appearance.

I reckon there could be brutal honesty services for lots of areas, for example people who overdo it with cosmetic surgery. Someone needs to tell them they look like ridiculous Madame Tussauds rather than the 20 year olds they think.

they whine about losing business to GOOGLE and online media. NOBODY wants to buy your papers any more. if you want to stay in the paper business, print your news on toilet paper and distribute it daily to every public and private bathroom for a large discount to regular clean-ass paper. when i don't like what i read i can just wipe my ass with your crap and put it into good use. that's how i like to consume the tons of crap you're selling. i might consider using it to blow my nose too but that's only when you sell me something paperworthy.

Home-delivery meal-planning

For a while I've wanted to start an online home-delivery meal-planning business. Most people I know in Australia who are on meal-planning start it because they want to cut down on the cost of groceries and put an end to wasteful spending. At the moment, no meal-planning business in Australia offers home-delivery which means people either have to shop through another online retailer or go out and buy the ingredients. Either option defeats the purpose of saving money and cutting down on buying stuff you don't really need.

I think people who are on meal-planning will like the idea of not having to go out to shop and be tempted. My home-delivery meal-planning business will only stock and deliver what is on the list. I think this idea can sell very well. I want to ask people on this site for feedback.

Travel buddy

I have time and money and I want to spend it traveling. None of my friends can join me because they are too busy looking for a job or working hard to pay off their debts. I can't push them and I don't think I can travel by myself. I have never traveled alone and I don't want to. I would like to find a travel buddy to join me and soon. I am not looking to make friends, I am looking for someone who is in a similar position to the one I am, wants to travel, can travel but can't find anyone to join. Online TV summary for busy people

There are so many shows I would love to watch but I don't have the time anymore. I would like to see an online service that would give me 30 minute or 1 hour video summaries of all my favorite shows and TV programs (national and cable), from comedy shows to reality to interviews and news. That would be a service I wouldn't mind paying a monthly fee for. Anyone interested in starting it?

How about a new website for book exchange where users from every corner of the world list the books they own. The site will allow for a search function to locate the book you are interested in and for sending an email to the owner who lives nearby to request if you can borrow it from him or her for a few days. Like on ebay, if you don't return the book, you will be rated by the community as an untrustworthy borrower and have hard time borrowing again.

Are you in favor or against people marrying online?

The idea is to give people the extra option to marry online if they want to. Make online civil marriages as legally binding as the ones performed at the mayor's office. It's becoming all the more common to meet people online and spend hours chatting on the net and form real relationships, so why not give people the option to marry online if they want to? The benefits are reduced costs, faster planning and an opportunity for new virtual-wedding businesses to develop. We could describe these web weddings in one word 'Webdings'.

Webdings will probably result in an increase in cross-border weddings. To prevent fake international marriages done for immigration purposes only, the couple will have to submit to the authorities of the country they wish to reside a chronological resume of their online relationship which will have to have a duration of at least a couple of years.

I think it is an interesting concept and the public debate about it should start online.

YouTube Dictionary

I think an online multi-language Video Dictionary is still missing from the web. Text definitions should be replaced with voice and image definitions. An online dictionary where users upload video definitions of words using images, video clips and presentations. Since it would require large storage capacity, I thought You Tube would be the ideal platform for it.

Smarter password security

Do you save the answers in a security question to a file in your computer? How secure do you think this practice is? When you answer a typical security question, such as what was your first teacher's name, do you check to see if you have already put that information somewhere on your blog, MySpace or Facebook profile? I'm also curious about people's attitudes towards hacking. If someone was hacking into your account but was inflicting a very small, almost insignificant and undetectable damage/change to your privacy, data or financial statement would you rather know about it or not?

To give you an example, suppose the hacker changed one of your 30 or so interests you listed on one of your many profile pages from sailing into rowing, would you really bother to spend the time and effort to improve your security or would you rather let the incident go unanswered until a more serious intrusion happened?

I'm sure people would want to know if a big intrusion occurred but what about a very small one?

how can we wrap a digital present?

isn't it fun to unwrap presents? it adds to the excitement, doesn't it? how can we replicate the experience when it comes to a digital present purchased online and sent via an email link to download? wouldn't it mean more sales if we could somehow produce the effect? one way is to show an animation and replicate the sound of paper torn while the file is downloading. that leaves the hands bare. why do we like unwrapping presents? it's the mystery of not knowing what's inside. or the care that's been taken to present the item as a present. in the latter case it's a symbol that triggers an emotion. how do we come up with that symbol in a digital product offered online?

perhaps watching a video in virtual reality of the gift giver searching for the present, finding it and wrapping it? or a video showing us unwrapping the present which has been rendered to look like it has physical form? does wrapping translate as presentation in the online world? i don't know. can you think of something to suggest?

SkypeShare for lower phone bills

You probably know you can make very cheap phone calls with Skype to landlines. Under a monthly subscription of about $12 you can make unlimited calls to more than 40 countries.

SkypeShare is a cheating concept. Share the password to one account with a few others and make unlimited calls driving down the monthly subscription cost even further. To prevent abuse, Skype's fair use policy actually limits 'unlimited use' to 10,000 minutes per month with a maximum of 6 hours per day but still, the restrictions can allow for plenty of time to be shared among a few friends.

Sharing the account could also work with prepaid plans and calls to mobile phones which are more expensive. The idea is nothing new or extraordinary, one account with a shared password to split the monthly subscription bill among a few people. Simple as that!

How to make an impossible 1st date happen

Buy 2 tickets for the next show in town. Check on FB or MySpace for the best-looking girls and send a last-minute message "Hey, I know this is out of the blue, but i got last minute tickets to this tomorrow. Would you like to go? Before you vote on my poll, consider this. This is hypothetical but imagine you really wanted a nude painting of yourself or your girlfriend. Instead of having 1 artist to paint, artists from all over the world could compete for the commission. Then you can choose the painting you like the best and the artists who lost the commission can put the paintings up for sale earning you extra commission fees which will pay up for the cost of the painting who won your heart. Who said there's no such thing in life as a free lunch?
