Friendbook

How about a new social networking site where your friends get to create your profile? That's never been done before. Wouldn't it be interesting to see how friends describe you collaboratively?

Protest virus or tear gas addiction?

Riots in Greece are still going on and violent student protests are fast spreading to France. Why? Could it be that tear gas is addictive? Painful at the start but pleasurable in the fast run required in protests? Is it time to pause social analysis on the issue and conduct chemicals research or should we wait until we see police using tear gas without their masks on? Or are the protests a live chemicals research experiment by the government? What?? Shouldn't I say that in public? :)

RATE YOUR EMOTIONAL WELLBEING

Organisations use IQ tests and other like tests as a means to assess candidates' suitability for a job. Why don't social matchmaking services use this technique to rate a person's emotional wellbeing and their suitability for a healthy relationship. It can be an option and if the other person is hesitant to take the test, that could already be an indication that they have something to hide. The other person who wants to find out doesn't have to be an expert in the field either, as they can just be given a summary on whether this person is reliable, genuine and suited to their needs. Current matchmaking tests, I assume, just judge suitability by comparing interests, hobbies etc. Better to have a more in-depth psychological analysis to determine true compatibility.

Wikipedia. Famous People's Facebook!

They're all in there. Every time I do a google search of a famous person the first result I get is their Wikipedia page. It has a bio, a photo and links to more info about them on the web. It's a detailed social network profile. It occurred to me that Wikipedia is the best social network platform for famous people. Their life's work is already included. What's missing is an 'Add me as a Friend' button and regular updates of their activities. An online encyclopedia with a social network capability for famous people, a hybrid Wikibook, would be cool to have on the web!

DNA littering

Have you ever thought how easy it would be for someone to get a sample of your DNA? My hair likes to fall out. I bet I have littered my hair all over the place. All it would take is for some hair collector dude to pick a piece up and there'd go my DNA. It'd be easier than stealing a social security number. Why would someone need a sample of some random DNA, right? Just a thought.

Squat Teams

According to Ayatollah Khomeiny's Political Philosophical, Social and Religious principles: "When defecating or urinating, one must squat in such a way as neither to face Mecca nor to turn one's back upon it." How serious are they about it? How do we know? Do toilets have chalk drawings showing proper squat? What if they don't?

Does the devout muslim carry a compass that beeps when facing the wrong direction? Do Squat Teams sweep and clean each and every WC? How do they contact the raid? Must they face Mecca or turn their back upon it? And just how do they reprimand the sinner?

Say he's stuck in the toilet seat facing Mecca, does he get rescued immediately? Or left in the seat for hours and days as punishment? Does sainthood require an impeccable squat record? Are sins of squat squashed, washed away or flushed down the pipe following confession?

A torrent of very important political, philosophical, social and religious questions springs to mind as one takes a deep squat into the teachings of the Ayatollah...you know in a way that neither faces nor turns away from Mecca :)
