Horizontal-sliding wipers

Why do car wipers sweep the screen in an arc as opposed to sliding across it horizontally? Horizontal wipers seem a good idea to me because they can give much better wider coverage. Car manufacturers should give customers the choice between arc-sliding wipers or horizontal sliding ones. My only exception to automatic arc-sliding wipers would be human-powered ones. The only problem with that design might be that the driver might have to get out of the car to turn it on, or off...

A better place for the pedestrian push button

What about placing the pedestrian push button on the ground?

I think that would make it easier for people to use it. When someone carries heavy bags for example it's easier to step on it than lift the arms to push it. People who are very tall have to bend and people who are very short have to stretch or lift their arms. It's also more hygienic as people don't have to use their hands to press it.

Not impressed with men's parking skills

Ok I'll admit that I am hopeless at parallel parking but if men are as good as they claim to be in parking cars even in tight spots why are they so lousy finding a woman's g-spot and parking themselves there??

What we should definetely highlight is my vibrator. He parks himself perfectly in every necessary spot! And since i am also hopeless in parallel parking maybe i should use him while i am parking my car, he might give me the extra skills i need.

Well, considering the g-spot isn't visible, maybe we should give men a break in that area. rather, we should highlight those men who can't find the essential "C" spot (which is a lot more visible than a hidden curb while parallel parking), well... maybe they need a lesson on the female anatomy, or perhaps their girlfriends need a lesson in assertiveness to tell their boyfriends EXACTLY what they need to DO IT RIGHT and stop trying to protect their pseudo-Casanova egos. Could we lay blame on the girlfriends for creating the men who think they're god's gift to women? Anyone care to comment?

Fart Up your tires!!

This posting requires that you picture it as you read. Keep your nose open too. Now imagine you could use your farts to inflate your car tires. Imagine a pipe wired into the seat with an opening on the seat's surface to carry the hot gas inside.

If the gas doesn't exit fast enough or with enough force a small pump can help suck it into the tires.

On the plus side a patent like this eliminates the need to open the window of your car to ventilate the space inside and helps avoid embarrassment if others are in it as well.

The air pressure inside the tires always stays at the right amount which keeps the car in better balance.

And if the idea works well in cars it can be scaled next to buses and planes where the higher and more diverse the supply of gas the better the condition of the tires inside!

Before you get used to picturing this too much, let's see how much humor you can handle.

Say you're going to use this system in the future for your car. That by itself would mean you must have a good sense of humor. So why not display it with some kind of writing on the tires?

As you can see in the photos on the right, I made up four slogans you can put on your tires. Which one do you think better describes what will be happening inside your tires?

Since GM is now owned by taxpayers, I would like to institute that I don't need to pay for my car loan anymore. Technically I own a portion of the company that produced my car, right? I don't like the fact that I purchased special order non-returnable domestic car parts for my damn taxpayer owned car. I'm pretty sure that had I brought my car to the dealership, the wiper blades would cost more to fix than the wipers on the Audi. When I can find 321 ways to spend that money every month instead of paying for something that won't even be made in 4 years, the temptation to stop paying the loan now that I own a portion of the company is just too strong to let go...

More roundabouts would be nice

Roundabouts are a seeming contradiction, they slow traffic while they keep it moving. But they are safer than traffic lights because they demand that your - and more to the point everybody else's - operation is cooperation. They save fuel because unlike a light-directed intersection they don't require you to stop, idle and start again. They have no moving parts. And you can plant trees and flowers in the circle.

Just a thought..

I always have these great ideas to freak people out and amuse myself, but I don't ever actually have the balls to do it.

So anyways...this morning I was doing my weekend jog w/ my friend (jogged 18 min then 5.5, woohoo!) and we had several cars of guys slow down to yell things out the window at us. This is not uncommon, but its just so weird. Because seriously? This is when you want to yell out at a girl? When she's sweaty and gross and up at the ass crack of dawn (or like, 10am, whatevs) to jog? But you know they aren't really hitting on you. They're bored and trying to be funny.

So that got me thinking... what if we could find a way to just freak them out. For example... car slows down at stop sign and yells out typical "shake it baby WOO" and instead of ignoring them or giving them dirty looks, we smile? And make a bee-line for the car and be like "omg you guys are SOOOO cute, so you want our numbers? omg we should TOTALLY go out tonight" etc etc. It might just get them to stop yelling out to random girls. it'd be a public service really. Just a thought.

A seatbelt gentle to a woman's breast

Can we make the portion of the belt that presses upon the woman's breast to do so in a more gentle manner? Making it out of soft cushion or inflatable would relieve a lot of pressure on the breast from a tight-buckled belt.

Reduce rental car tank refill charges

Car rental companies charge ridiculously high prices per-gallon if the customer doesn't return the car full tank. Makes profit, sure, but also makes customers unhappy. Why not give small discounts (say $5-$10) to all customers who return the car full tank and charge a progressive flat fee (say $1-$10) on empty tanks based on the amount that has to be refilled? Customers on empty tanks will be penalized less than if they had to pay on a per-gallon basis and everyone gets the incentive to return the car full tank. The discount can also help lure more customers to the company.

What's the point of having a facially unprivileged woman wear a nigab - black cloth that fully covers a woman's face - if men are tempted by beautiful women only? Are all muslim women that pretty or are all muslim men that tempted?

What about an Islamic Beauty Organization that sets beauty standards for women and decides who must wear the niqab all the time and who doesn't have to. The WIBO's mission might help solve the issue some countries face with regards to banning or not banning the head scarf in public places...

Does having to wear the niqab reduce car accidents in a country? I am thinking of those instances when men lose their concentration on the road ahead because they happened to see a pretty woman going down the street. It would make for a fascinating debate if such statistics were available...

Personally, I think obliging all women in a country to adhere to a strict religious dress code is ridiculous. I don't feel sad only for the women who after all might be used to wearing it or see it as a fashion statement. I feel sad for the men who get used to seeing less of the female beauty that exists which in turn makes it hard to cultivate good taste in women :)

Until a day comes when all cars can emit clean gas, what about having aromatic car exhaust filters that make emissions smell like perfume, plants or flowers and not like mechanic farts? Wouldn't that help make our cities friendlier to live even though the level of pollution would still be the same? Even if clean emissions become reality one day, shouldn't we still require aroma to be emitted as a way to achieve large scale urban aromatherapy for all city dwellers cities?

Investing in something has the meaning that you get something back in return for your money. If you purchase a hybrid car what you get in return is the intangible profit of a less polluted atmosphere.

I think we should consider ourselves not just as consumers who buy something but as consumers who choose to buy something over something else because we know this purchase is a kind of investment and support for new technologies that are more environment-friendly over others.

For example, by choosing to buy a hybrid car over a conventional one you indirectly invest in the research behind energy-saving new technologies by supporting corporate profits that help fund research and help attract investors with capital that will in turn fund research in these new technologies.

When it comes to buying your next car for example, would you consider purchasing a hybrid car over a conventional one as a means to invest and support hybrid technologies that are more environment-friendly? Would you ever think of yourself as an investor this way?

Or would you only think of yourself as a consumer who saves money on gasoline or as a driver of a fancy, fast, reliable good car or whatever else its key selling points are?

I can understand why you need a car diploma to drive and why you must always carry it with you. I don't understand why car insurance must also be mandatory to have. If the reason is to always pay for any damaged caused in an accident, then why doesn't the law ask us to have insurance for anything that we do that might cause damage?

For example if I go out on a dinner and I get poisoned because of the meal I ate, then under the car insurance logic why isn't the restaurant owner required to have food poisoning insurance and reimburse me for any hospital expenses I incur under the law?

I think car insurance should not be mandatory under the law. Does anybody know the reason for which it is? What do you think? Should it be mandatory?
