Beware Greeks inspiring sex strikes!

I read on the news that women in Kenya are on sex strike to force the government and opposition to stop bickering and look after the interest of their country. Although I've never been to Kenya, I think the news tell us that women must have no political power in that country. Why would they use sex to bring political change otherwise? In the article I read that the strike was inspired by Ancient Greece. In Aristophane's comedy Lysistrata, the ladies of 5th century BC Athens withheld sex from their menfolk to force them to put an end to the Peloponnesian war!

I must admit I haven't read Aristophane's original guide to a sex strike, but I have the following two observations to make. First, it is well known that homosexuality was strongly practiced in Ancient Greece, so how effective could a sex strike really have been? Second, assuming the strike can be very effective, could It have been the culprit that drove men into homosexuality?

If Aristophane's comedy was an inspiration to women in Kenya, my advice is to be careful about how long they carry out the strike. Ancient Greece was the bastion of homosexuality so it might not be the best example to follow :)

Thrust the Crust. Close this African/European Gap!

Just a silly thought. We know that the African tectonic plate is inexorably heading north, swallowing southern Europe in the process. To geographically unite Europe and Africa will take thousands of years and perhaps many more devastating earthquakes. What if we could speed up the process with sex? For a month, we get all countries in South Europe and Africa to exchange their female and gay populations for the purpose of engaging in hardcore sex. The only condition will be that the Europeans thrust from north to south and the Africans and Arabs thrust south to north. The goal will be to make love in the direction of the tectonic plates!!

Just an idea to bring Europe and Africa together faster. They are moving closer anyway. If you are happy with the current rate of 4 millimeters every year you don't have to participate but if you like to increase the speed by a few millimeters you can join the people's movement for faster unity between the continents :P

This line was used by Steve Jobs in his speech to graduates of Stanford University in 2005. If we take his advice literally, then Africa has the most potential to create millionaires and successful businessmen in the years to come.

The Africans stay "hungry" because they're "foolish" enough to think this way they'll make it rich one day. Unlike the Chinese or the Indians who do not seem to follow that logic anymore because they're smart enough to want to feed their people. What about all the millions of homeless people in the US? Any chance they might be following Job's advice? Mac hunger training perhaps?

I think it is all about getting priorities right. Food for thought or thought for food? What would you rather have more of? How can we best fight hunger and poverty around the world?

i don't know if such invention exists already, but think it would be helpful to people in Africa where malaria kills thousands of children every year. I know for example that rats can be repelled with sound, so what if light at a certain frequency could repel mosquitos? What do you think, is this possible?
