save trees, print less paper

imagine how many trees can be saved if printer settings did not give the option of printing on one side only. a simple adjustment in the settings to make all printers print using both sides of paper means less paper would be consumed. it's probably about half the amount we print now. if you think about it that's a lot of paper!

chameleon fabrics

can we use nano-technology to create a fabric that changes color when a substance of different color is dropped on it? use the fabric on single-color clothes (shirts, t-shirts, jeans, pants etc) to cover stains and spilled liquids. for example useful when you're out and coffee is dropped on your clothes and can't change them. if the stained cloth is white it immediately changes to the color of the coffee stain and voila the problem of bad stain is solved temporarily. want to change color back to white? use a drop of tipp-ex or use other color wite-out to change to different color

What's wrong "being alone"?

All single people are trapped because they are judged by others or given pity for "being alone". However, I spend most of my days listening to married people talking about their divorce or wanting out of their marriage. I think we're screwed either way. I mean, really! Why is being single so bad? Next time anyone tries to hook me up with the most random person they can find, I'm going to throw my drink at them. I'm single. Not Desperate.

A thought on the human brain

I just had a thought that I hope is worth sharing. I was thinking about how we use our human brains. We are told we utilise only a small percentage of the brain's overall capacity. This awareness leads me to think about its actual structure, namely billions of neurons making connections continuously. I suddenly see the possibility that the whole of humankind functions as if it were a single brain made up of billions of neurons.

Each neuron is a single human brain in this analogy. In our present world, billions of neurons exist, but the majority remain untapped potential. Every death is equivalent to the loss of a vital brain cell, and millions die every day in our world through neglect by the active neurons, and lack of nourishment.

Single Currency

I have wondered many times what the meaning of the existence of multiple currencies? I think a single currency could have a lot of benefits like reducing the cost of economic transactions and making the pricing of good and services more effective. Also, it would end the currency speculation and the effects of it and would boost the economic activity among various countries.

I would like to have a single language before I had a single currency. The benefits to the world economy would be even larger than if you only had a single currency. More trade, more travel, more understanding, more cooperation. So if I had to choose between a single currency and a single language, I'd rather have a single language. A single language would inevitably lead to a single currency as the world would become one in terms of how people think. A single currency without a single language means the world can trade better than if it had multiple currencies but it doesn't become one. So what I want to say is that under a single currency the world improves, under a single language the world becomes one. Within this context, which would You rather have?
