How to decide what to cook

Some people might agree that the biggest problem with cooking is not cooking itself but deciding what to cook. One way to help yourself decide is to make menus, put them in a basket and each day pull out one. It's a clever way to trick yourself into making a choice instead of trying to figure out what your choices are before you can decide.

Vote Against!

What is your opinion about making the Protest Vote in a democracy more explicit and direct? We consider it a Protest Vote when people vote for a minority or fringe candidate that has no chance of getting elected or when they post a blank or spoiled ballot paper. What if, instead of voting for the candidates we like, we voted against the candidates we don't like and the candidate with the least amount of Against Votes wins. I know it sounds cynical, but isn't the Protest Vote in the many indirect forms it takes more cynical anyway??

What if there was a machine or gadget that would tie the tie for you and all you had to do was wear it?

I have never seen such a gadget around and last time I asked my wife to do the tie for me, she was saying how frustrated she was I could never learn how to do it myself!

I imagine it as follows. You would enter your neck size once, choose the kind of knot you would like and it would take care of the rest!

How difficult could that really be? These days you can have machines/robots that automate the process for everything, why not on how to tie a tie?

What do you think?

what if the soap or gel we use to wash our hands and face could also be used to stop us from having to shave every day? I don't know if it's possible but I was thinking that if a chemical substance existed or could be invented that can stop the hair on the beard from growing when you apply it to the skin, then we could control the growth of the beard just by washing our hands and face. This way we could shave time and save hair!

do you think that if it was possible to invent such a harmless chemical, then razor companies might try to stop such research because it would reduce their profits or drive them out of business?

Movies: The Idea Is Everything

Ok, this is an idea about an idea. I have always been wondering what is it that makes a movie a good movie?

It's the idea, stupid! The one spark that gets your script going, and you've got your film. Most films that really grab you can be summed up in one line.

Don't believe me? Try these :

Jaws - 'Man afraid of water pursues killer shark'
Reservoir Dogs - 'Diamond heist goes wrong.'
Independence Day - 'Aliens invade Earth'

Asking yourself, 'what if...' might help

For example 'What if...an alien visitor gets left behind on Earth' (ET), 'What if...toys came to life' (Toy Story), 'What if...a lodger dies leaving behind a suitcase with a million pounds in it' (Shallow Grave).

Try to create a couple of these by asking yourself 'What if...' and post them here.

Let's see who can come with the next million dollar idea for a great movie.

If this idea gives you many thoughts for your next idea, don't forget to support me please!
