Same and eternal...

Do you ever think that life after death may be the eternal replay of the life we live in this life? Is that the fundamental essence of life?

To live it in the most fulfilling and happy way we can because if we don't we'll end up living the same unhappy life over and over again? Is that the meaning of life? or...death??

Is it really possible to take control of one's life and make it "happy" ?

Doesn't anyone have a problem with the idea of a life after death being the exact same repeat of life before death?

Do you believe God exists?

I'm an agnostic when it comes to my atheist beliefs which means I don't believe God exists because I'm skeptical that it's possible for me to believe otherwise. The good thing is that I can be an atheist without being an agnostic in general, just skeptical and noncommittal only when it comes to my ability to believe that God exists. Because I believe what I believe in a situation where say I'm stuck in Hell with someone who's visiting from Heaven, I can honestly tell them 'Go to Hell' and mean it. If I believed God existed, I could only say 'Go back to Heaven' but I wouldn't be honest with myself as my true feelings would be 'Stay in Hell'. That's the trap people in Hell will fall into if they believe it's possible for Heaven to exist but not me.

"Near Death" experiences

Many people around the world have claimed to have "near death" experiences where they died and went to Heaven before returning to their bodies. Why is it that none of them ever visited Hell before returning to their bodies? Hearing these stories makes us imagine what it's like up there but they're all so one-sided. Just a thought..

Till Death Do Us Part

If I take this vow and have a happy marriage that I want to keep in heaven, do I have to remarry? What if I die before all my friends do and I can't invite them to the wedding? Who would I invite then? Strangels? And what if I can't afford the divine ceremony? A happy marriage should last forever. The vows changed to "For Better or Worse, For Life And Death...Till Heaven or Hell Together for Ever" :)

God's forgivness..?

GOD forgives people. If someone is sorry for their crimes then everything is forgiven. There isn't a short period of punishment in hell before you go to heaven. You're forgiven because you're sorry.

What about in real life? Let's say someone robbed a place. If he's really sorry then why does he have to go to jail? He should be forgiven.

For people who are atheists obviously this doesn't make any sense. But what about Christians? If you're a Christian and you believe you should follow God's orders, then do you believe in Jail time for people who for forgiveness?

afterlife stories

so many difference religions and so many believes about after life. Buddhists believe in reincarnation, nirvana , Christians believe there is heaven and hell. When you come to the thought that your life will end one day what do you think the after life is going to be?

Obama's policies. The Way to Hell.

Mirek Topolanek, the prime minister of the Czech Republic and head of the EU presidency described Obama's bailouts and fiscal policies as the "Way to Hell". This is unusually harsh language that European politicians never used even when Bush was president despite the fact that negative/angry feelings were running very high back then and despite the fact that European politicians, on the whole, were completely opposed to Bush's policies in Iraq and his handling of foreign affairs. Why such language now for Obama?

Are Europeans feeling less fear to speak out their minds than before? Is it because they feel the US has declined and weakened in their eyes that emboldens them to speak up more freely?

Or is it a sign of fear and panic as the credit tsunami is expected to hit Europe's shores harder this year?

I think it's probably more a sign of European panic and fear than a feeling of relative European strength or self-confidence from perceived weakness of US power. Most of the foreign debt of the US is held by the Chinese and the Japanese, so in my mind if anyone should be excused for using such tone it should be them. Yet the language in the statements by Asian officials is measured and less emotional.

In addition, Obama's critics here in the US accuse him of trying to turn the country into some kind of European-style social democracy with his policies, those on the extreme accuse him of wanting to implant outright socialism. In view of that, it seems odd to me that Obama receives the kind of criticism he receives from Europe.

What is it exactly that the Europeans fear? Do they feel helpless to handle the crisis?
