Once upon a time, it used to be that people acquired their last names after the work they did. If you made bread you were Mr Baker. If you made things from wood you were Mr Carpenter and if you made barrels you were called Mr Cooper. And if, once upon a time, you made off with $50bn of investors' money you took the name Madoff! (pronounced Made-off) Named after the work you do makes sense, doesn't it? :)

Chopsticks
Does anyone else here feel annoyed about chopsticks that have to be manually separated? Why can't chopsticks already come separated in the little package? I have been told that I am obsessive about it. I know it bothers me to look at chopsticks unevenly separated at the top. Of course, it's almost impossible to manually split them evenly.
Good Asian restaurants serve plastic or other finer material chopsticks that are already separated and symmetrical. It's usually with the cheap wooden ones that come as a set and must be separated. Honestly, what's so difficult to sell them already separated? Any others in this world who feel this way about chopsticks?
I read somewhere that Chinese gov reinforces restaurants to use washable chopsticks. Lot of people buy those wooden one time use chopsticks something bad for the forests. I believe that is due to manufacturing reasons that it's easier not to split them in 2 pieces. Don't know exactly how it works.
I think the pizza knife might work in helping you split the chopsticks evenly. Just ask for one from the kitchen, it will also help illustrate your point about the chopsticks.

Wood in fire placed like bowling pins on the stage!

Thinking about it probably began when I first heard my grandparents complain about not being able to light the fireplace as often as they used to. The reason is that they had to rely on others to carry the wood inside the house. So, what about a simple mechanism that carries the wood from its storage place into the fireplace? The idea came to me when I was out playing bowling with my friends. The plastic pins were switched to wooden pins in my mind for a moment and since then I kept thinking, why not?

One club to rule them all...

The passsepartout key opens all the doors in a hotel. What about having 1 master golf club that you can use to make all the shots in golf? The shaft can be adjustable to the height of the person using it and the wood, iron and putter endings can be replaced depending on the shot. To make them easily replaceable yet firm and tightly adjusted to the shaft, magnet can be used. I think this would be great for beginners who do not need the whole 14 club set. It will also be easy and light to carry.
