Could you live without the internet?

Before you answer yes or no, take a few seconds to consider the deal (I would appreciate it if you can also leave a comment to explain your choice). Here's the deal. You are instantly handed as much money as you want in return for giving up use of the internet in your life. You are free to fill up the amount on a blank check with enough space on it to add as many digits and zeros as you like. You become filthy rich in a few seconds if you take the money. But no internet any more! Do you take the money and give up use of the internet?

I'm browsing this site where people express their thoughts. I have a question. How can we evaluate a thought? What makes a thought important? Can you say that one thought is more important than another thought?

The value of a thought

Hi everyone, I'm a new member. I enjoy reading what gets posted here but I have an observation to make. If your thoughts have values and are worth some money, does that mean that if I steal all the money from your thoughts your thoughts have no value any more? Huh? In my view, if you want to value thoughts with money, starting with this one (!) that's not such a bad idea. To think, however, that a thought has value because it has money, to me, that is absolutely aloo-dicrous idea :-)

I was just looking through this site and began to search for posts by category. As I was doing this, I realized the difference between the number of postings on topics such as business or entertainment as opposed to religion. Then I wondered, wouldn’t it be interesting if the site indicated the number of posting per category as well as the demographics of users by country, sex and age? I assume this would indicate what the things that our society values the most are and how we evolve…
I would think that if this site had been created a couple of years ago we would not have found as many posts on the environment as we do now!
