Do liposuction centers sell the fat they extract?

I read on the news that the creators of Earthrace, a trimaran that runs on bio-fuel such as soybeans, veggie oil or animal fat did liposuction and contributed 10 litters of their human fat to their next journey. The amount is enough for 15 kilometers of travel. If human fat can power bio-fuel engines, what do liposuction centers do with the fat they extract every day? Do they sell it? Seriously, does anybody know?

What about creating a new machine that measures weight and for those who are overweight it will reduce the weight to the desired level by sucking the fat out (through some kind of liposuction technique probably).

Those who are underweight, well, stop smoking and start eating!

OKAY, I have had this idea for a long time now. It is silly and kinda ridiculous, but if it can be turned into a real product, it can be a blockbuster.
